List all of your skills and business features
Create a list of all of things you and your business do / sell/ create, as well as noting all of the skills you utilise, the tools of your trade and the people you work alongisde. Don't overlook any aspect you take for granted or see as 'standard practice' (what's standard for you might be overlooked by your competitors). This will form the basis of our shot list.
Consider where the images will be used
Inform your photographer of where the images will be used (online, social media etc.). Do you need specific images for certain web pages, and / or images with empty space for text to be placed over the top. Will you be using the images all at once or will some be used for specific times of year or promotions?
Make mistakes
You will not be expected to be a professional model and nail certain shots on the first attempt. Remember that there is no pressure to be perfect. Embrace and laugh at mistakes and focus on enjoying the process.

Essex Personal Branding Profile: Aishleen Lester from Le Star Jewellery
Aishleen is an incredibly talented jeweller who wanted some new personal branding images to promote her growing business. She was anxious about having a personal branding photography shoot, because she felt that she was not photogenic and did not know how to act on camera. We spent a lot of time discussing her insecurities and identifying approaches that would make her feel relaxed and comfortable. We allowed plenty of time on the shoot to settle in, try out ideas and discover what made Aishleen feel good. I think you’ll agree that Aishleen looks fabulous.
Cambridge / Essex Personal Branding Profile:Fifi’s Cakery
Located in the stunning Cambridge countryside, Fifi’s cakery is home to luxury wedding cake designer Fiona Byrne. Fifi’s personal branding shoot centred around the creation of one of her drip cakes and I took a documentary photography approach to capture natural and unposed images of Fiona at work.

Charlotte is a coach for sensitive teenagers; helping them to find their superpower and embrace their unique style of learning and accessing education. Charlotte wanted a range of personal branding images for use across her website and social media. We combined a few action shots with more traditional headshots and personal branding images. The shoot took place at Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Charlotte was delighted with the images.
