Check everyone is happy for the funeral to be photographed
Funerals are very private affairs and can bring out a range of emotions. Please talk to the key members of the deceased’s family and friendship group to ensure that - even if they themselves do not want to be in the photos - they are happy with the funeral being photographed.
Decide on the coverage you want
Unlike with a wedding or christening, there is not a standard set of images that are deemed essential at a funeral.
You can decide how much coverage you want. You may want just the service, just the burial or ashes interment or want the wake captured too.
I can help you decide what is the best package for the funeral and there is no right or wrong decision.
Share a shot list
You do not have to itemise every single photograph you want, but if there are certain guests and moments that you want a record of, let your photographer know.
When are the key moments happening? A simple shot list and timeline of key events is super helpful.
